Catechist Certification Program

    The Catechist Certification Program offers a basic and advanced adult formation to help catechists attain the knowledge, skills, and abilities for catechetical ministry. The program challenges catechists to grow, theologically, spiritually, and in the foundational skills of a catechist.

Certification – 64 hours
Theology (29 hrs.) + Skills (23 hrs.) + Spirituality (12 hrs.) + Practicum

Programa de Certificación Para Catequistas

     El Programa de certificación para catequistas ofrece formación básica y avanzada para adultos que ayuda a los catequistas a adquirir la sabiduría y habilidades nece-sarias para el ministerio de catequesis. El programa reta al catequista a crecer teológicamente, espiritualmente y en las habilidades fundamentales de un catequista.

Certificación  – 64 horas

RE-CERTIFICATION PROCESS

The re-certification process enables catechists to renew their certification status after the initial three year period
From the moment you become a Certified Catechist, you have three years to complete the basic requirements for Recertification.

  • 4-6 hours of Theology – Where can I go to complete my theology?
    • Tepeyac Summer Institute (Theology related course)
    • Tepeyac Theology Program
    • Before taking some other courses please consult with our office for credit
 
  •  4-6 hours of Spirituality - Where can I go to complete my spirituality?
    • Ministry Retreats offered in your Parish
    • Advent Retreats, Lents Retreats
    • Catechist Retreats
    • Tepeyac Summer Institute (Spirituality related course)
    • Note: Evangelization or ACTS retreats are not valid for certification

  • 4-6 hours of Skills - Where can I go to complete my Skills requirements?
    • Another Conference, please consult with our office for credit.
